IJBSP aims to cater to  the cutting edge research in the area of Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering which involves processing of signal/data/information to yield an innovative result more suitable for healthcare applications. The Journal publishes the original articles quarterly. It covers wide spectrum of areas including bioinstrumentation; biocontrol systems; biomechanics; clinical engineering;medical imaging; microbiology and pathology; tissue engineering etc., Suitable topic for submission include, but are not limited to the following areas:

Special note to authors: Authors who wish to submit their research ideas should ensure that the proposed work has not been published earlier or is not under review/ consideration for publication elsewhere. A covering letter must be submitted with the above statements along with details of the manuscript with author’s affiliation details. The authors have to make sure that no plagiarism (word by word copying) is involved in the content of the manuscript. Due acknowledgement should be given at the appropriate place.


Instructions for the preparation of the manuscript for the International Journal of Biomedical signal Processing:

The following instructions will be helpful for preparation of the papers for publication in the International Journal of Biomedical signal Processing:

General Instructions to Authors

1. Original manuscript should be submitted, online (either in pdf or MS word format) to the editor in-chief.  As  an alternative  three hard copies of the   manuscript can be submitted to the editor office along with a soft copy on  a CD .

2.  A separate one page document containing author’s affiliation, contact address, title and abstract of the manuscript, acknowledgement if any has to be submitted. The manuscript must be an independent document which should not contain any of the above details.

3. Initial submission of the manuscript should be typewritten double-spaced on A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) ( hard copy version: on one side only).  Insert the figures and tables where they are indicated in the text (i.e. the body of the paper).

4. The abstract should not exceed 300 words. Relevant six keywords should be provided after the abstract.  Manuscripts should not exceed 35 pages in double spacing format (including all tables and figures).

5. Figures should be planned to fit the journal’s page size that is 12 by 18cm. Line drawings should be made with black India ink on a good grade of white drawing paper. (Xerox or mimeographed material should not be used.) All lettering should be professional in appearance (no freehand lettering). All lines should be clear and sharp, show a uniform degree of blackness, and be proportionate to the size of the graph. Photographs to be included should be glossy contrast prints. Figures should be numbered as Figure.1. ; Figures 1-4. (inside the body of the paper and in the caption). Colour figures are allowed in electronic copy without extra charge but in the hardcopy extra money will be charged ($ 50 per colour figure) subjected to the willingness of the authors’. Black and white figures will incur no charge for publication.

6. Tables should appear in the manuscript as near as possible to the place where they are referred to in text. Tables should be numbered as TABLE-1.; TABLES 1-4. (inside the body of the paper and in the caption).

7. Wherever possible, authors should arrange their materials in well-defined sections: Abstract, Keywords,  I Introduction,  II Background  Analysis, III  Experimental Results, IV Discussion,  V Conclusion, References, Nomenclatures and Acknowledgement, if any. Subsections should be specified as A , B etc., with font size 10 italic.

8. Spelling should be consistent throughout the paper and according to the Oxford Dictionary.

Notes

References are to be identified in the text by  numbers in square bracket [  ]. If two references are to be highlighted , then should be specified as [22-23].At the end of the paper, presented under the heading ‘References’, the cited literature should be listed.
The full bibliographical data of note consists and has the following order:
A. Books
Author, full name, Complete Title of the Book, Editor, Series, Edition, Number of Volumes (City where Published: Publisher, Date of Publication). Page Number(s).
B. Article in a periodical
Author’s full name, “Title of the Article”, Name of the Periodical Volume (Date of the Volume): Page Number(s), Year.

• Periodicals :

Further Notes: All papers will be reviewed by three unanimous reviewers. If necessary, the author(s) will be asked to revise the manuscripts according to the referee’s suggestions. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to make reasonable modifications in wording.
When a paper has been accepted for publication, the author(s) will be required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement form. The final version of the manuscript should follow the prescribed format as specified for publication.

Reprint Charges: Twenty-five reprints of a paper are provided to the Authors at $ 200. Additional sets of reprints may be ordered at the time of proof correction.
