The present work is an anthology of well-¬researched articles/papers which take within their sweep different aspects of human rights, their content, their violation and their protection. Contravention of human rights is a very complicated phenomenon to which state-sponsored initiatives can only give a slight protection. Many argue that the term 'human rights' is nothing but a set of ideals which are easy to perceive but difficult to achieve. There is disgruntlement and incongruity over the need of human rights. It is very difficult to adopt a universal approach to human rights and their content as different nations have different political, social and economic set-up, but one thing which is very evident and unambiguously true is that demarcation between empowered and deprived is responsible for violation of human rights. The solution lies assertion on part of every human being that he is entitled to live the life of a human and to emphasize his right to live with dignity in a just and egalitarian society. Legislations or protection of human rights through Judiciary can serve as protective umbrella only if human beings raise their voice against injustices than depending on state-¬sponsored protection, commitments and promises.
